Central Spain, September 2009: scorching temperatures, deep blue skies, the land virtually treeless, like a desert, and the ancient town of Segovia an oasis-like bastion of ancient architecture.
Here, high up in the fairy-tale Alcazar, or castle, I found the crenellations of the defensive walls a perfect contrast to the azure above.
