“Red Glow” : Hiroshima, Japan, 2nd December 2010
I thought about posting this simple photo many times in the past, but always gave up at the last moment, thinking that it was too clichéd, or not abstract enough.
Tonight, though, I say to hell with wild experimentation and let’s just enjoy a candle doing what candles do best – glow in a beautifully relaxing way.
It occurs to me now that in the past I would often light up scented candles of an evening and listen to music or chat with friends, but those days are long gone: why I can’t really say.
Somehow as we get older we don’t seem to have time for such luxuries, even though the intense calm and relaxation they can bring are what we need more than ever.
But somehow, I just can’t seem to revive the habit. Perhaps it is just the preserve of youth…
