“Hoarder’s Junk” : Porto, 9th September 2011

My house is full of old rubbish. I’m loath to throw anything out, really, and as such the junk has accumulated to terrifying proportions over the years.

I certainly wouldn’t want strangers looking in my windows and photographing the untidy contents, and yet that is exactly what I’ve done here to some poor stranger in Portugal.

Incidentally, I’m off on holiday this week, so if the comments on these photo posts seem a bit terse and ‘phoned in’, that’s because they are! I did seven in a row in a rush….

“Jagged Façade” : Bologna, Italy, 24th March 2011

I was walking along the back streets of the fine old city of Bologna, taking a short cut, when I chanced upon an extremely unusual church, not listed among the major attractions.

Not a tourist was in sight, but I found the bizarre façade of this edifice eminently photogenic, and took a whole sequence of shots capturing the unusual brick work.

Looking more like something that would be at home in Sumeria or the Assyrian empire, I found the best view was gained by standing close to the wall and pointing the camera upwards.

Again, proof that dispensing with the map and wandering at random gets results…
