Porto, like Lisbon was found to be host to a lot of interesting and experimental street art that was way beyond the standard spray can type stuff found elsewhere.

“Porto Pig” : Porto, Portugal, 9th September 2011

My first full day in Portugal’s second city of Porto got off to a particularly poor start – cloudy, cold and raining.

I wasn’t sure what to do – there wasn’t much point in going to see the sights, which all seemed to be shrouded in very low fog, so I headed out for a large indoor market housed in a giant old building.

Even here there wasn’t much to see and the photographic angles were few and far between, but I did see this slightly chilling pig effigy sitting in front of a dirty-looking butchers. As a non-eater of red meat, I found this a bit nauseating, but the composition was too good to pass it by. Besides, it’s not for me to judge the choices of others…
