“Skycable Skeleton” : Hiroshima, Japan, 28th December 2011
Until I joined the Instagram community for iPhone photography, I had no real idea that there was a whole load of people interested in shots of ugly tangled overhead wiring, but there is, and they’ve even coined their own term for such things: skycables.
Japan is a country rich in these unsightly jumbles, apparently having an aversion to burying them under the ground like they do in most places, but I must admit I’m coming round to seeing them as objects of interest rather than an ever-present example of how convenience has triumphed over aesthetics.
